Huge win for Winchelsea

The Federal Government today announced funding of $2,060,000 for the Winchelsea Sports and Community Hub under the Regional Council Infrastructure Fund. Local Federal MP, Darren Cheeseman, said today the Winchelsea Sports and Community Hub was one of the most important projects he had advocated for since being elected.

Cheeseman condemns $50 million Colac and Warrnambool water heist

The Federal Liberal candidate’s recent slip-up revealing secret Liberal Party plans to pump water out of the West Gellibrand River and Reservoir and into the Barwon Reservoir is stealing water from the people of Colac and Warrnambool, Federal MP, Darren Cheeseman, said today. “This is a straight-forward water heist from Colac and Warrnambool,” Darren Cheeseman said.

Alternative energy to 100,000 homes at risk by Liberal flip flop

Federal Liberal candidate for Corangamite, Sarah Henderson’s, backflip on the Gherang geothermal test site puts the potential supply of alternative energy to 100,000 local homes at risk, Federal MP Darren Cheeseman said today. Just weeks after writing a letter of support for the project, the Liberal candidate is now saying she opposes it.

Corangamite Carbon Neutral Project (C²N) Announced

Federal MP, Darren Cheeseman, today announced a Corangamite Carbon Neutral Project “(C²N)” which aims to assess the current carbon emissions status of the region and to put in place a roadmap for the region to become carbon neutral. “In the wake of the disappointment with the Copenhagen Treaty many people are feeling frustrated and powerless about what to do on climate change,” Darren Cheeseman said. “This project is about engaging and inspiring people locally, and giving them hope they can act in their own region in a project that can make a real difference.”
